How do I connect to the Wi-Fi?
Answer
For cybersecurity purposes, students will need to download and install ClearPass OnGuard in order to access the Wi-Fi while on campus. To install this free program, please read the instructions below. For instructions on how to register a Smart Device or connect your Android, sign in to myPBA and read the directions available at this link: https://my.pba.edu/ICS/Departments/Technology_Services/Handouts.jnz
Windows
- Located on the taskbar, bottom right of the screen, click on the wireless icon and choose PBAU_SAILFISH.
- After selecting PBAU_SAILFISH an internet browser window will open with a Posture Check screen. Select the Windows OnGuard Installer to start the ClearPass OnGuard installation.
- At the bottom of the screen the download will appear, select Run.
- When Windows SmartScreen appears, select Run.
- Choose your preferred language and select OK.
- Select Next to proceed.
- Read the End User License Agreement. If you accept, put a check in the box and then select Install.
- On the final install prompt, make sure the box to Run ClearPass OnGuard is checked and select Finish.
- The ClearPass OnGuard icon will appear in the icon tray in the bottom right of your screen. If it does not appear, please restart your computer. (Click the up arrow to the left of the date and time to open the icon tray).
*If the ClearPass OnGuard icon appears red, double click the icon. Then read the notification to find out why the device is flagged as Quarantined and what needs to be changed to meet the required specifications.
Mac
- Click on the wireless network icon located on the menu bar, towards the top right of the screen. Select PBAU_SAILFISH.
- Under Mode select Automatic and use your myPBA username and password. For example, PBA\SailfishJ. Do not include @pba.edu. Click Join.
- Open up an internet browser and try searching the internet (use non pba.edu websites). When trying to visit a website, you will be prompted with a ClearPass screen entitled Posture Check. Select Mac OS OnGuard Installer to start the ClearPass OnGuard installation process.
- On the bottom right of your screen, select your Downloads, then select ClearPassOnGuardInstall.dmg.
- Double click ClearPassOnGuard.pkg to start the installation.
- You will get a pop-up to Install Aruba ClearPass OnGuard. Select Continue to proceed.
- You will be presented with a screen that says Welcome to the Aruba ClearPass OnGuard Installer. Select Continue to proceed.
- Read the End User License Agreement. If you accept, select Agree.
- Select Continue.
- You will be presented with a screen that tells you how much space the program requires. Select Install.
- Please use your Mac's Administration username and password to install ClearPass OnGuard. Note, this is something that you set up personally.
- When the installation is complete, you will be presented with a screen that asks if you want to move the Aruba ClearPass OnGuard installer to the trash. The application's installer is no longer needed. Select Move to Trash then close.
- If your computer meets the requirements of the ClearPass program, a green icon will appear

Troubleshooting
If you are unable to connect to PBAU_SAILFISH, please forget PBAU_SAILFISH on your device and try connecting once more.

You’ll know that you are connecting properly if you are prompted to plug in your username/password and if you are prompted to “Trust” a certificate.
