How do I find children's books that have been translated from another language?
Answer
There are several ways to find children's books that have been translated from another language:
1) Visit the Children's Literature Collection Research Guide to view a list of books.
2) Search the library's catalog for books that have won the Mildred L. Batchelder Award.
The Batchelder Award is given to the most outstanding children’s book originally published in a language other than English in a country other than the United States, and subsequently translated into English for publication in the United States. To find Batchelder Award books at the Warren Library, first look up the list of award winners, then search for those books by title at http://library.pba.edu.
3) Use Library of Congress subject headings to find translated children's books.
